Gary Bailey

Gary Bailey, former Manchester United player, seamlessly takes audiences from the pitch to the boardroom, with a series of practical steps to help them thrive under pressure and achieve greater success. He’s a highly qualified business speaker, with an MBA from Henley in Oxford. His topics is how to be "Successful under Pressure"


Ipswich-born Gary played football for Wits University in South Africa, and joined Manchester United in 1977 – becoming their top goalkeeper in less than a year. He played in 373 competitive matches, including two European semi-finals and he played in two FA cup winning matches. 


From 1978 to 1986 Gary played for England, and reached the pinnacle of his sporting career with the 1986 world cup squad that made it to the quarter finals in Mexico.  At the same time as living the dream of playing professional football, Gary completed a BSc in Physics at Manchester 

University, and completed an MBA from Henley in Oxford.


After retiring from the world of professional football he returned to South Africa and became the anchor TV presenter for football in Africa, and along with public speaking, he has continued to live and thrive under pressure.


Gary has been one of Southern Africa’s top speakers for over a decade and was one of the ambassadors for South Africa’s world cup bid, travelling the world with the bid team. HIs talks, workshops and online courses have proven to be successful, with delegates reporting up to a 60% improvement in their ability to thrive under pressure.
